Why age grade rugby?
Rugby is more than just a sport for us. It's a way to help young adults develop important skills like cognitive abilities, resilience, and creativity. We believe that playing with friends, having fun, and being part of a team are essential to enjoying the game. That's why all of our coaches and referees are player-centered and dedicated to supporting our players throughout their rugby journey.
When and where we train
All training for age grade rugby takes place at our home ground: Buxton RUFC Sunnyfields Harpur Hill Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 9PX
Minis up to (and including) Under 6 train Sunday's 10:00 - 10:45 am
Under 7s and upwards train Sunday's 10:00 - 11:00 am
How to become a member
The membership fees for the 2023 - 24 season are just £54. This can be paid monthly via GoCardless at £4.50 per month. The club manages player membership via the RFUs Game Management System (GMS) website (this is also an RFU requirement) and it is important that players are registered on this system for each playing season. Speak with your coach if you are having any issues with registration.
Age grade kit
Full kit for the 2023 - 24 season is £20 for junior sizes, £30 for adult sizes. Kit can be ordered by contacting Liz Taylor on 07761 123507. Orders will be available to collect from the club.
Matches
The club's age grade teams are not currently in a league so matches are arranged as friendlies with other local clubs. Dates and times will be circulated as arranged but please note that matches may be on a Saturday or Sunday. The club’s plan is to have around one match per month for all age grades during the season.

The coaching team and everyone else at Buxton Rugby Club are volunteers, there is lots to do and plenty of opportunities for you to help. Volunteering at the club is an immensely rewarding experience and if you would like to help with coaching, or anything else please speak to anyone at the club. No experience is necessary, training is available and any time you can give would be most appreciated.
